Design and configuration
Aperture or slot shape, dimensions, distribution, plate thickness and rear flow paths all affect the arrangement. Check individual segments, complete ring layout, supporting structures and part quantities.
Operating conditions and installation
Confirm whether the supply covers individual plates, a complete plate set or an assembly with supports. Mill grates must not be confused with crusher or cooler grates; changes to apertures require a review of equipment and process requirements.
Inspection and maintenance
Record wear location, remaining profile, impact marks, local damage, support and fixing condition. Reassess the lining when feed, media size or operating mode changes. For composite liners, also inspect rubber and interfaces.
